THE NERVOUS SYSTEM… THE NEXT STEP
The nervous system is the body’s master communication and control system, coordinating the brain, spinal cord, and nerves to regulate virtually every function of the body. It receives information from inside and outside the body, processes that information, and sends signals that control movement, sensation, organ function, and adaptation to the environment. It also helps maintain homeostasis—keeping the body’s internal systems in balance and responding appropriately to stress and changing demands. In simple terms, the nervous system communicates, coordinates, controls, and adapts the body so it can function at its best.
The peripheral nerves (PNS) are so dense, it has been said, that if the body could be dissolved in a solvent that could dissolve everything except the nerves, you could still recognize yourself.
Three (3) phases for caring for the nervous system:
1. MOVE (Power Law #2) — strengthen, mobilize, and challenge the body.
2. RECOVER (Power Law #1) — especially sleep, but additionally rest, relax, and quiet time to allow the nervous system to recover. Take a leisurely walk in the park 😊
3. ADJUST — restore proper spinal position and motion to malpositioned vertebrae to minimize or eliminate nerve interference. This would primarily involve chiropractic care, with specific, effective spinal adjustments.
So the memorable version becomes: MOVE → RECOVER → ADJUST
